Handbook and Policy


  • With the use of AI becoming more and more popular, it is important that your organization establishes an AI policy and includes this policy in your handbook.
  • Remote work is a common offering from many employers. Whether or not your organization offers it, it is growing more important that you have a policy providing acceptability and guidelines pertaining to remote work duties.
  • The last major policy to consider implementing is a social media etiquette policy. Guidelines around using social media during work hours and posting in company-affiliated clothing, and/or with company property, should be referenced.

Items to consider


  • Summer is approaching! Many states already have mandatory heat stress guidelines for businesses. Even if your state does not have this protocol in place, from a risk management standpoint, it is wise to consider. Check out this article for more information on heat stress initiatives, and this resource for general state-specific regulations.
  • Up to this point, only organizations with 25 employees or more are required to use E-verify in the employee verification process. There is a bill being voted on that would require all organizations, regardless of size, to use this verification tool in the hiring process. In case this passes, it is wise to begin learning this verification tool and how it may impact your hiring process.
